About
About The Bayfront Group
The Bayfront Group provides CFO and strategic financial advisory services for owners of established, privately held businesses. We help owners understand financial performance, plan for cash needs, and prepare for growth, an exit, a transaction, or a difficult operating period.
The partners behind the firm
The firm was founded by Alex Brau, CPA, and Marcelo Abinum, who met while building the financial foundation of Inter Miami CF. Their work brought together financial planning, reporting, long-range modeling, and operating leadership. Today, they combine experienced partner involvement with a network of accounting and finance professionals. Meet our managing partners to learn about their backgrounds and experience.
What financial leadership involves
Financial leadership connects accounting information with the decisions an owner needs to make. A monthly close establishes what happened. A forecast uses explicit assumptions about revenue, costs, collections, and payments to explore what could happen next. Reviewing actual results against those assumptions helps an owner see where the plan needs to change. Our advisory services cover ongoing CFO leadership, value creation and exit readiness, transaction support, and the financial side of turnarounds and restructuring. Each engagement defines its own deliverables and responsibilities.
What is financial readiness?
Financial readiness is the ability to use reliable financial information to support a business decision and explain that information to others. A buyer may ask how sustainable earnings are and what drives profitability. A lender may focus on cash generation, working capital, and the business's ability to meet debt obligations. Consistent reports, documented assumptions, and an understandable forecast help owners respond to those questions.
This website includes a Financial Readiness Score assessment covering reporting quality, forecasting, cash and working capital, profitability, transaction readiness, and team dependence. The assessment takes about three minutes and uses your answers to highlight stronger areas and potential gaps. It is a starting point for discussion, not an audit, valuation, or assurance that financing or a sale will succeed. It does not independently verify your financial records.
Where to start
You can take the readiness check to get an initial view of your finance function, or contact The Bayfront Group to discuss a specific decision. The aim is to understand your business and identify practical financial work that supports what comes next.
